The Abraham's Of Sodom, Part One

The events of Genesis 19 as they relate to Abraham, Lot and Sodom are a picture to us today as to how we as the church must act during this time of change in our nation. With the elections behind us and the election of Barrack Obama as our next President we as the Body of Christ must pray for our new President unlike we ever have prayed before.  We are like Abraham as an intercessor seeking the salvation of Lot in the midst of Sodom, one of two cities, destroyed by God Himself by fire for the sin of homosexuality. America's dance with destruction centers on her willingness to embrace homosexuality and abortion - perversion and the shedding of innocent blood; we must become the "Abraham's of Sodom" to ensure America's future is repentance, revival and restoration, not destruction.

TEXT: Genesis 18:16  - And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way. Genesis 18:17-18  And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; [18] Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. [20] And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

 

Before I get into this message let me make a few general statements about our ministry right now and some issues we've remained silent publically about over the past few years. First, let me say we have taken a year and half almost from writing. Some of the reasons were to get fresh manna; other reasons were not so admirable but a time of tribulation this past year with family sickness and several traumatic events that got us a bit discouraged.  We're what you call out of season in the ministry with very few doors opening at the present which all ministers go through I guess. We're seeing light at the end of the tunnel as this situation personally and inwardly seems to be clearing to a degree. We ask you keep us in your prayers. There are so many who have written us over the past 12 years now who have read these journals on the website and have been blessed. If you've been blessed, it's in spite of us, not because of our great writing or oracle abilities. We have none of that. It's been by God's grace I'm even typing these words right now. We've never intended for this website to offend folks on purpose or cause enemies. Sometimes it has done that but let me assure the reader it's not our hearts intention to draw swords but to speak the truth in love as well as the Holy Spirit can reveal that truth to us. Do we get everything right on here or is everything 100% infallible truth? Not a chance. But I hope this past 18 months has been a growing experience for us and we hope and pray the future of this website will be to continue to encourage, edify and uplift the name of Jesus and let the chips fall where they may. To be frank the only people who have taken issue with our site in 12 years of writing has not even been the unbelievers, but church going folks who tend to get very religious and self-righteous at times. Self-righteousness is the bane of the church and it destroys more folks than drugs and alcohol. Our prayer this year is to get back in the saddle fully and pour out our hearts in these journals until the day comes we can do that behind a pulpit again. We're hoping to start doing some audio series on some of the studies here if we can get the logistics worked out.

 

On another issue is last year's election of Illinois Senator Barrack Obama as our nation's 44th President. I have remained extremely quiet about President Obama since his election in 2008 but I have seen he and his party seek to remove just about every Christian foundation in this nation. I don't know whether Mr. Obama is a Christian. He says he is. I'm not his judge but it's hard for me to swallow that as a Christian believer one can shamelessly support strong pro-choice abortion rights and make promises to same-sex marriage proponents that he will seek to overturn the marriage amendment that makes marriage only legal between a man and woman. In addition, his policies so far have bordered on socialism and rank communism in some respect even though I don't believe in the deepest recesses of Mr. Obama's heart is such. His race has already came into play many times this past year which sadly has blinded many to the color of his heart. I applaud the fact that we elected our first African-American president in this nation. But racial equality and justice is not found by putting someone in office for the sake of putting them in office. It's not the color of one's skin that matters to God, it's the color of one's heart. It's not skin neighbor, it's SIN. I know there are Christian believers of all races who didn't care about the issues of values such as abortion or same-sex marriage during this past election but this writer did. I am not shocked at where we find ourselves right now as a nation but I am disappointed. Mr. Obama's socialist policies regarding this current health care nightmare and his promises to literally redistribute wealth could very well send this nation into a financial abyss we may not come back from for years if ever. In addition, his mocking of the Bible and other matters spiritual at times this year along with his arrogance of power also has made me wander where this man's heart and motives lie. His support of murder and perversion were issue enough for this writer to not vote for Mr. Obama. It was not because I was white and he was black. It was not because he was a Democrat. Memo to reader: God is neither.

 

Having said that now the nation has chosen him to be its leader, I will pray for our President and ask God to move on his heart as he leads this nation the remainder three years of his first term. I pray his heart is touched by God's Spirit and he is drawn closer to God as he now faces serious challenges ahead in 2010 and beyond. We as believers are admonished by God's word to pray for those in authority. Granted the writer of Proverbs declare that when the righteous rule the people rejoice, but when the wicked are in rule, the people mourn. (Prov. 29:18). You make the call as to the state of the nation's attitude right now. My opinion and take that statement as that is that the nation is mourning over the policies being forced on it at the present. A little less than a third of all the citizenry in this nation supports what the President is doing and that is along racial and party lines. I'm going to make a statement that some may not agree with but make it I will. In some ways I believe Mr. Obama is God's response to this nation who in general spent eight years mocking the faith of George W. Bush while he was in office.  Mr. Bush was not a perfect president and made many mistakes. His biggest mistake at times to me was trying to fix the Middle East by pressuring Israel to give away land but even in that his heart was seeking a remedy for Israel's safety, a remedy that will never be political. I watched him towards the end lose heart and make decisions he would not have made earlier in his term. He was God's man for the hour we faced as a nation after 9-11. Yet the media and most of the Hollywood-types and most non-discerning Christians spurned him and his administration making mockery of him and his family and spewing out the most vilest things. Jude describes these types as having no respect for authority and speaking "hard" things against those in authority.

 

Many people saw Obama for what he was and is doing today. Few were brave enough to state it for fear of being called a racist and other names. I lost friendships myself over my feeling Obama was not God's choice for this nation. Like Israel of old, God had an alternative with not John McCain so much but his running mate, Sarah Palin, a unapologetic believer in Jesus, a strong advocate for life and a humble servant in my opinion who has not deserved the vile and wicked treatment she has received even a year after the election. While not perfect, she burst onto the scene and has been the subject of the most malicious and vilest attacks - even by some so-called Christian leaders and those I thought should know better - and while trying to hold her peace as much as she can has had no choice recently but to come out and answer what has been said. One late night comedian got a lot of laughs at her expense only to be found out to be an adulterer and liar and almost lose his job. God will fight your battles friend!

 

God gave Israel a choice millennium ago in Samuel, yet Israel chose Saul. God gave us a choice last November, and America chose Obama. And now we have him as our leader for better or worse. The true believer may not agree with what he stands for but we commit ourselves to praying for our nation's safety and security and because we do we are obligated to pray for our President. If he goes down, the nation goes down. We need to pray for Congress and the Supreme Court. The nation's foundations are under attack like never before.  As Christians, we are called to become intercessors for our nation. This issue of intercessory prayer is actually part of the framework of this journal which wants to look at the response needed by the church in these last days. I want to share with you a prophecy sent to me about a year ago right after the election which I believe speaks to the overall heart of God and as the writer who sent it to us that it will bring peace:

 

Do not be discouraged, for the fate of this land is, and has always been in the hollow of My Hand. You should not be surprised or dismayed, for these tenuous days have been long prophesied, and are now coming to pass.  Indeed, I have heard with My Ears, and seen with My Eyes, the righteous cry out for mercy.  You are living in the days of Noah, where a great flood - of deception - has enveloped the land.  Do not be deceived by the seductive words of those who have no discernment, of those who cannot give you wisdom, because they do not know WISDOM Personified. 
 
Do not be deceived by those who promote peace where there is no peace.  The people have chosen mammon over their God, and they will be judged by their own selfish desires.  They have followed one who will lead them further into despair, though in his delusion, he promises the inspirations of his own heart.  The people are focused and have fallen prey to a spell, captivated by promises that no man can bring to pass. They have forsaken the One Who is Provision Personified, yet if My People will pray, I will have compassion on those who come back to Me.  Only I Am able to see through the hearts of men.  Do not be quick to pass judgment, lest that same judgment fall on you. Rather, discern, and lead out those who have eyes but are blind... those who have ears but are deaf.  
 
I know who are Mine, and those who are Mine, must not be discouraged, neither should they be dismayed.  You have cried out to Me for favor with this election, but will you cry out to Me to now pray for who I have placed in authority over you?  Even though you cannot see My Hand, will you now trust My Heart?  Indeed, I AM weeding the tares from the field, and those who are truly Mine, will listen to My Voice.  I will not supersede the free will of the people, for I Am a merciful God.  You may not understand the process, but there is always a purpose and plan. They have chosen the king they desired, and now have ushered in things which they will not expect to transpire... things which will take them captive like a thief in the night. They operate in their flesh, for there is no foundation except flesh for them to stand upon.  You should know, that flesh upon My Altar, will be burnt asunder by My Own Hand.  I call you to place them under My Authority and keep them at My Altar, that their souls may be redeemed. All is not lost, it just looks hopeless.  
 
I AM El Shaddai.... I AM All-Sufficient, and I AM Holy. Only I can change the hearts of men, and move them through My Word. Prepare the path for those yet to come. Intercede, that the obstacles will be removed.  For those who will listen, they shall be saved.  For those who chose not, shall be destroyed.  I have placed before you life and death, choose life.  My People, who are called by My Name, MUST humble themselves and pray and seek My Face, for when they do - when they stand in one accord with My Spirit - I do indeed hear from heaven, and I move - even though you may not see it in the natural.  Just as in the days of Noah, and Abraham, and Elijah... all things must come to pass in My Order. 
 
I implore those who are Mine, not to enter in to compromise with the world, not to succumb to the pressures that will soon be upon you, but to stand fast as valiant warriors committed to the Kingdom of Heaven and My Righteousness.  You are still lights, candles that have the ability to illuminate the dark and reveal what is hidden.  Shine like a light in the world, that I may hold out MY Candle of Hope.  I will be leading some in directions that others will not understand.  Know that I AM strategically placing people in circumstance and in position - like a chess game - to fulfill My Purpose.  You must not faint or grow weary, for you must remember that in your weakness, My Power will manifest itself perfect IF you surrender your will to Me. 
 
Know My Heart, seek My Wisdom in every situation, and discern every spirit, lest you be deceived by the seemingly glorious signs and wonders that will soon take place in your midst.  Do not be carried away by the delusion of grandeur.  Take nothing for granted, and trust nothing you see transpiring in the world.  Keep your eyes upon Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith. Trust ME, for those who put their trust in the Lord will find salvation, deliverance and wholeness in My Presence.  Joy is found in My Presence, but it is not the temporal joy that will sustain you, but rather the simcha - the Joy that is found in the innermost tabernacle, which is My Strength. Seek My Joy, find My Strength, for it shall be your sustenance. Enter into My Presence that I may give you strength to endure these times. 
 
Stand fast, armed with the knowledge of My Perfect Love, which casts out all fears.  Do what you will in the natural and proceed with all that has been mapped out for you. Do not be afraid to walk in the dark, for I AM with you always, you are never alone.  When you can do no more in the natural, continue to stand, and you will see the salvation of your God.  Keep your mind stayed on My Promises, for many of you will suffer afflictions. Yea and I say to you, children... many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers them from them all, and I will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on ME. 
 
Be encouraged, and encourage others.  Do not entertain petty arguments and allow strife to divide those among you. Do not be afraid to get into the trenches, for many will fall into a pit, and it is your responsibility, each to his own, to help them out.  My Command is that you yoke up with whom I place into your path - and you will know by My Spirit those who are of Me, and those who are of the synagogue of Satan - and work together in agreement with My Word, for it will never return to Me void, but will always accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.  Do not allow derision over petty quarrels to divide you, or you will fall by the Sword.  Many will come in My Name, saying that "I AM the Christ" - see to it that you are grounded in the Only Foundation that is firm and unshakable. 
 
The days are dark, the night falls before you, even as the sun shines, but you are more than over comers, by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony.  You need not fear, for I watch over those who testify to My Love.  Listen for the quiet whispers when I visit you in the night, and be bold and courageous, forsaking all else, to promote the Truth of My Word.  For indeed, it is the Truth that will set men free.  Nothing will be wrought in your own power, or in your own strength, but it will come to pass soley by My Holy Spirit. 
 
Fear not, for you are My Witnesses, and I have called each of you by name. I have equipped you and I will provide for you.  I have every hair on your head numbered, and I watch your coming and your going.  Fear not, on the days that are long and arduous. When you are weary, come to Me. Worship Me, that you may tap into My Joy, found in the Innermost Tabernacle...that My Joy will be your strength, saith the Lord.
 
Magnify and praise My Name, there is power in your love.
Tap into MY Fountain, I shall anoint thee from above.
Worship Me today and I will grant thee what thou ask.
Fellowship with Me and I shall wipe away thy past.
Stand still and take My Hand, I long to walk with you today.
Wait upon My Voice... I shall clear each path you choose to take.
 

The key phrase in this prophecy is "magnify  and Praise My Name!" Glory to God. Friend, we cannot forget we serve a MIGHTY God who can do ALL things over and abundantly than what we ask.

There are two other visions I would like to share as they relate to America's economy: The first one is entitled, "VISION - ECONOMY on LIFE SUPPORT
by prophet Bryan Hupperts he saw nearly 11 years ago this week on November 3, 1997: This is Bryan's vision:


The Lord showed me a body laying on a bed in a hospital setting.
The patient was named The Economy. His chart was at the foot
of his bed and the lines on the graphs seemed to be marked by
sharp up and down turns.

He was breathing "falsely". He was surrounded by many specialists
who were doing many things to keep him alive. He was totally on
artificial life support. Just then, the Chief Physician came in,
looked at the patient, and declared, "This patient is dead. Let that
which is dead die." With his own finger, he threw the switch to cut
off the life support.

The Economy heaved, gasped, and died horribly.

End.

Bryan wrote this days after the prophecy: I believe that we are headed for a global meltdown of the world  economy. This will bring chaos and ruin but will strip people of  their false god of money and many souls will be brought to Christ.  If we are walking in obedience to the Lord, we have nothing to fear.  Ask the Lord for wisdom to get your economic house in order.  Seek first the kingdom of God, And his righteousness, and all  these things (materials needs) will be added unto you.

A second vision from Harold Eatmon that same year of 1997 concerned two "black" Mondays he saw coming in the future:

"...In my last article I mentioned a vision of the Stock Market's
'Big Board' having serious upcoming problems. I saw the Stock
Market soar and then crash. After the crash, many big business
corporations and private parties bought up stocks because of the
low cost to buy in. Then I saw the market begin to climb again
in a short period of time. Then it crashed again bringing tremendous
loss, ruin, and devastation to all who bought in the first time.
This is what I have labeled "Two Black Mondays." The time period
between the Two Black Mondays was very close together. I could
not tell exactly how close. It could be a couple of days to a
couple of months. There are some tell-tale signs indicating the
season and the setting. *I saw the season to be when 'the leaves
fall to the ground' then the first crash would occur.* I also saw
the Yen and Mark fall dramatically just before this sudden and
inexplicable crash. Like Joseph in Genesis, I believe America
will have fat years of financial blessing. I also believe there
are coming lean years of financial difficulty for America.
I do not believe God is showing this so people can beat the game
financially. I rather believe He is saying keep your eyes on
eternal things. Store up treasures in Heaven."

We are living in perilous times neighbor. The last days are upon us and God the HOLY GHOST is speaking to His people. God the HOLY GHOST wants to warn us of coming events if we will hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches! I believe Rev. Eatmon's vision has already been fulfilled in part since we saw the first black Monday "when the leaves fall to the ground," which refers to fall; this recent crash took place in late September and early October 2008. His admonition is clear: KEEP YOUR EYES ON ETERNAL THINGS AND STORE UP TREASURES IN HEAVEN! In south Georgia English that means invest in the Kingdom of God which is eternal and cannot be shaken!

In late 2008, Cindy Jacobs issued this prophetic decree:

“For the Lord says, “I am answering your prayers and have begun the cleansing of Wall Street, exposing the wickedness and greed in high places. Pray now, and I will begin to give the leaders of the nation wisdom on how to revamp and reverse the debtor system currently in place. This is a course correction. If you do not pray at this time, you will miss your day of visitation and the economy will collapse, causing a ripple effect that will sweep the nations with a major tsunami wave.  This wave will begin to touch the ground, as even the harvests of the world will be affected. Food shortages, hyperinflation and other sorrows, especially affecting the poor, will take place. However,” the Lord says, “if my people respond and fall on their [faces] and cry out at this time with a mighty cry, I will hear them and heal their lands. Hear, O nations of the earth! Respond with weeping and travail and pray for the stock markets and economic systems. Pray for your leaders as well, for the earth is in the throes of a deep shaking at this moment for the systems of the earth must be reformed. Do not despair and think that I cannot heal—that I will not hear your crying to Me from My throne in heaven. My ear is carefully listening for your sound so I will reverse the curse and bring a blessing upon your lands.”

The point is simple. The prophetic word from Ms. Jacobs is clear as to what our response MUST be if we are to survive what is coming: WEEPING and TRAVAIL. We are needing Abraham's to stand before the Lord and intercede for America which has become like Sodom if we plan to see America survive these coming days ahead. Despite belief to the contrary, Mr. Obama will not solve this crisis without divine help. He is not divine but he NEEDS divine help! He needs Jesus and we as children of God need to realize that it's not Washington who holds the answer to the nation's ills but it's the prayers of every blood-bought child of God, washed in the blood of the Lamb, those who name the name of Jesus; those who are born again and know the power and preciousness of the anointing of the HOLY GHOST and what He can do to transform our nation. GOD has the key to America's ills! If we will honor GOD first then we can with good conscience declare Him to be our source of LIFE and HE will then come to our nation's rescue! Christian, child of God, YOU and I ARE the Abraham's of Sodom and if are nation makes it or goes into an eternal abyss never to return again depends on us!! I hope you hear what I am saying to you child of God. As I write this I am being stirred again myself. I have been riveted to my core the last few days in realizing that the church's play day is OVER and we will now have to pray for everything we receive during the days ahead. Persecution is coming to America and whereas in time's past people mocked and made fun of such statements, I believe when we see things of such magnitude start to take place we'll realize we need more than a TBN praise a thon; That is another subject another time.

In a future journal to continue this theme we will take up what Abraham did to stand before the Lord in intercession for Lot and Sodom. His prayers ironically could not save the city but God was willing to spare them had they repented because of Abraham's pleadings. Lot was the only one saved from his family which is a sad footnote in itself. I pray you know Jesus today and we encourage you to pray for our nation as never before. There are rumblings unlike any time we've seen in recent memory. Earthquakes in divers places are becoming headlines daily. 2010 has been the year already of the earthquakes. More are coming but not just physical ones- spiritual ones as well. It's time to pray!
