Men have been warned and warned and warned some more of coming world events that will usher in a time on earth so horrible and tragic that unless the mercy of God cut the days short, NO FLESH would be saved from being killed. The prophets called these days the “days of vengeance,” Paul called it “sudden destruction and travail like that of a woman,” and Jesus called it “the great tribulation.” Jesus warned us that “as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man.” A coming journal will look at that statement more in detail. THIS journal is about the warnings that were given by God through Noah and how the righteous responded and lived, how the unrighteous rejected the warnings and perished.

TEXT: Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

2 Peter 3:4  - And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

        God’s judgment has always been and still is tempered with His mercy through advance warning of pending destruction and offering a man a way to avert such judgment.  God’s warnings are His grace to all who will receive and believe. The account in the Word of God of Noah preparing an ark prior to the flood proclaims a powerful message for all TODAY of the late hour we live in and the closeness of the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ at the rapture and eventually His physical Second Coming to Earth.

        Josephus revealed that God imparted to Adam a revelation that the earth would be destroyed twice – once by a volume of water and later by the violence of fire. According to Josephus, Adam related this information to his son Seth, who in turn passed the urgent warning on to his sons. This revelation was considered so important that Seth’s sons recorded the message in brick and stone. According to historical records:
 

They also were the inventors of that particular sort of wisdom which is concerned with the heavenly bodies, and their order. And that their inventions might not be lost before they were sufficiently known, upon Adam’s prediction that the world was to be destroyed at one time by the force of fire, and at another time by the violence and quantity of water, they made two pillars, one of brick and the other of stone; they inscribed their discoveries on them both, that in case the brick might be destroyed by the flood, the pillar of stone might remain, and exhibit these discoveries to mankind; and also to inform them that there was another pillar of brick erected by them. Now this remains in the land of Siriad till this day.

        According to the Book of Jasher, a historic writing containing early Biblical history, the author gives additional insight to the ancient tablets that contain Adam’s written warning. This ancient book is quoted twice in Scripture and once in 1 Kings 8:53 in the Septuagint translation:

Joshua 10:13
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

2 Samuel 1:18
(Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)

1 Kings 8:53
For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant (Septuagint i.e. “in the book of Jasher), when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God.

        According to the ancient author, Cainan, Seth’s grandson engraved these solemn warnings:
       

And Cainan knew by his wisdom that God would destroy the sons of men for having sinned upon the earth, and that the Lord would in the latter days bring upon them the waters of the flood. And in those days Cainan wrote upon tablets of stone, what was take place IN THE TIME TO COME, and to put them in his treasures. (Jasher 2:12, 13)

        According to Genesis 5, the generations of Adam show that from Adam to Noah (ten generations) lived in close proximity to each other before the flood. In fact, Adam was still living in the 243rd year of Methuselah’s life. So both Adam and Seth could have continually informed their children, grandchildren and great grand children about this startling warning from God. It was the SEVENTH generation from Adam, however, that began making preparations for a major cataclysmic event that would soon come. It was the SEVENTH generation, or Enoch, who was translated off the earth without seeing death, a type of the rapture of the church. Noah, the TENTH from Adam, would see the fulfillment of the first of the two warnings etched in stone and brick about a large volume of water covering the earth. This was a new teaching to those living before the flood. Before Noah’s time, no flood of water had ever covered the earth.

        One quick note should be remembered concerning Enoch the 7th and Methuselah the 8th. Enoch began walking with God at age 65 according to scripture, after the birth of Methuselah. Why did the birth of Enoch’s son, Methuselah, motivated Enoch toward such spiritual dedication? The meaning of his son’s name may shed some light.

        The Hebrew name is a combination of the word met, which means “death,” and the word “shelach,” which means to initiate something. The root word means “to throw a spear or a javelin.” The English letter ú in Methuselah’s name is the Hebrew letter "vav," which means his death. Therefore, the meaning of Methuselah’s name is “his death will initiate,” or “his death will bring it.”

        Apparently it was revealed to Enoch that something cataclysmic would happen upon the earth of Methuselah. Some traditions teach that Enoch was taken to heaven at age 65, where he then received the knowledge of heavenly mysteries. One such revelation was that when his son died, a flood would engulf the earth. This is a thought only but it’s interesting that Enoch began “walking with God,” AFTER Methuselah was born.

Genesis 5:21-24
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: [22] And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: [23] And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: [24] And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

        In Genesis 2 we see that there was one main river that flowed through Eden to provide water for the garden, and it parted into four main tributaries or branches. These four branches were the Pison, the Gihon, the Euphrates and the Hiddekel, known today as the Tigris River.

Genesis 2:10-14
And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. [11] The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; [12] And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. [13] And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. [14] And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

        The Bible also states that a “mist went up from the earth and ground and watered the whole face of the ground.”

Genesis 2:6
But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

        That’s all the then human race knew of water. Vegetation was watered from the rivers and from the massive, watery vapor (mist) hovering above the ground, which was in essence a large firmament, or a canopy similar to that of the skin of an apple. The prediction of a coming flood was a new message, and was NOT RECEIVED by the skeptics – especially those of the lineage of Cain. It is HARD for people to believe in something they cannot see. It is EASY to become cynical and fearful of something that has never happened. And it is the same today.

Three Levels of Warnings

        Noah was the 10th generation from Adam and was given the heavy burden of preparing a huge ark to preserve his family and the animal kingdom from total destruction. When he reached the ripe old age of 500, Noah’s wife gave birth to three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Genesis 6:10
And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

        Noah’s father, Lamech, was the firstborn son of Methuselah, who of course was the son of Enoch. Noah was Enoch’s great grandson and being “divinely warned” of things not yet seen, MOVED with godly fear!

Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

        Noah moved with GODLY FEAR to save his family by spending 100 years in labor to build an ark to escape the coming flood. We today need to be moving with Godly fear building another ark - that of FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him crucified - to save as many as we can from the coming tribulation. The most perplexing element of this narrative is that nobody else outside of Noah’s immediately family of eight people entered the ark before the flood. The human population was corrupt and filled with evil imaginations and wicked thoughts. Yet, despite humanity at the time being so spiritually blind and hardened by sin, it is still hard to grasp the fact that MILLIONS disregarded the visible and verbal warnings of impending trouble! Men are ignoring and rejecting the same warnings today. Even many so-called preachers have pushed aside the preaching of the gospel message that is REPLETE with warning after warning of God's coming dealings with the human race on a level unknown to man in humanity's history. But God has not stopped warning and there are still those today who are willing to sound the alarm and tell a sinful world that it needs to REPENT and come to JESUS before it is too late. There are voices willing to warn a rebellious and apostate church to repent and come back to the CROSS and find it's foundations again in CHRIST. CHRIST IS NOT DIVIDED! CHRIST IS NOT some abstract theological idea - HE IS THE SON OF GOD. He is not something we argue over and try to find a "consensus" on what the people believe concerning Him. WE preach CHRIST CRUCIFIED - and with that preaching we know that there is an OFFENSE to the CROSS that many will reject - but preach this offense we must! WOE to us if we preach not the gospel, the HOLY SPIRIT warns us through Paul. Neighbor there are no greater times than THIS to be doing so!

Galatians 5:10-13
I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. [11] And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. [12] I would they were even cut off which trouble you. [13] For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
 

        There were three warnings THEN that preceded the flood and there are THREE warnings TODAY being given that are preceding the rapture of the church and the future great tribulation. The warnings of the past are based more on historical record; the warnings TODAY are based on the WORD OF GOD itself and the dealings of the HOLY GHOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need to take heed NOW neighbor. We need to move with Godly fear NOW! We need to make sure our calling and election are SURE! JESUS is coming and He is coming soon!

Warning One – The Prophecy and Predictions of Adam

        For over 1,300 years, the warning the world would be destroyed by water circulated through the descendants of Adam. This oral tradition was no doubt forgotten or ignored as time progressed. Just like today, people soon forget the danger signs when everything is going well. I can’t help but remember the atmosphere in our nation immediately after 9-11. For a brief moment we pulled together, howbeit, without repentance, but on a national level, there were no political parties or divisions in Washington D.C. ALL were united in what we had to do to stop terrorism.

        The nation became very patriotic but did not repent! All the terror of that horrible September day has been forgotten, as most have moved on their lives. Warnings often mean nothing till after the fact. The global condition of Noah’s day reflected a time of prosperity and festivity. People were “eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark and God shut the door.”

Matthew 24:38
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

        Busy people often forget to discern the times because discerning the times just may require us to repent and change our attitudes!

Warning Two – The Record in Brick and Stone

        According to Josephus, the prediction of Adam was carved in brick and stone: this was a constant reminder of the future. Every time a person passed by these monuments, written by Seth’s sons, they were reminded of information from a righteous man that humanity’s wickedness would, in the future, incur the wrath of God. Eventually, the muddy waters of the deluge would engulf the very stones that silently brought the divine warnings.

Warning Three - The Testimony of Methuselah

        The meaning of the name Methuselah indicated his death could bring about a drastic change on earth! Every time neighbor or friend said his name, they understood, “his death will initiate it.” The “it” was something so powerful that mankind would never be the same after it took place. This was yet another powerful sign that something powerful and yes, tragic, would transpire on earth at the end of Methuselah’s life.  The general population either IGNORED or RIDICULED these warnings and signs: the oral prophecies of Adam, the written prophecies on brick and stone, and the name of Methuselah.

Noah, MOVED with Godly Fear

        Only EIGHT people heeded, and prepared an ARK for the flood. Neighbor; let me interject this right here. The ark saved Noah and his family from the flood. The Blood of Jesus is that ark today and will save YOU and ME from the Great Tribulation! Faith in the Cross and Christ Crucified will keep one from the wrath of God. God’s wrath fell on CHRIST so that it would not have to fall on man! For those who believe they are SAFE from the coming storm, but those who reject and refuse to believe, like those in Noah’s day – judgment is coming. The three warnings in Noah’s day are based somewhat on historical tradition. I’m sure there were many more. To be frank, the ark itself was a testimony that something was coming.

        I’m sure many walked by Noah and his sons wagging their heads in laughter and scorn mocking them for building such a boat. I’m sure many told Noah he had not received divine instruction that such an event was coming. I can almost hear some of those mockers say, “we don’t believe those things happen today.” “We don’t need the word of God, we just need to live foot loose and fancy free.” Neighbor, those are the words of fools and they are being heard in these last days as well as they were in Noah’s day!

        No matter the scoffers, there is a coming time on earth when great persecution and great distress will hit the nations. It is the opinion of this writer that we are seeing the birth pangs of some of these events already. I don’t believe the church is going through the tribulation but I DO believe that there will be a brief period of intense persecution coming to the church, especially here in America, right before the rapture. We here in the West have been so spoiled and will be held so accountable before God one day for what we’ve done with these blessings.
 

       Our city is planning a national day of prayer event that will last three hours. We've actually had church members in the city we live complain the event is too long (It lasts 3 hours). I can guarantee that if we were planning to take our church youth group to a professional ballgame (which lasts about the same length of time) these same church members would be on the front row signing up for that. Yet, when it comes to under girding our nation and city in prayer we feel three hours is too long. GOD HELP US. We're going to be held so accountable before God here in America!

        If it thunders too loud, we cancel church, but if that same thunder is heard overhead, we’d sit and get soaking wet at the danger of getting struck by lightning to watch a professional ballgame. I love sports, but my love for sports, does not overshadow my love for God. Sports are but a passing fancy, the LORD JESUS CHRIST is my obsession! I want to know about HIM! I don’t care how many home runs or touchdowns my favorite teams had last year. I could care less. What I DO care about is that 2,000 years ago, the Lord Jesus Christ hung between heaven and earth and paid my sin debt so that I could go free and for that reason, I can say today that I’m ready for His coming! Why? Not because of any WORKS this poor frail human piece of flesh has ever done – but because of HIS GRACE and the fact I’ve placed my FAITH in the Cross and what HE DID THERE for me in saving me from both the penalty and the POWER of sin.

        NOAH, being warned by God MOVED with Godly fear! Preachers, we need to be MOVING with Godly fear behind our pulpits by preaching the word of Almighty God without fear or favor! We need to be hanging those who listen to us over the pit of hell itself through Holy Ghost conviction – THAT ALWAYS RESTS ON THE TRUE WORD OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! - and cause men to see themselves as God sees them – as sinners in need of the Cross! This humanistic laced sickening gospel heard today behind pulpits winds up making people sick, bored or lethargic. What is more deadly and scary though is that that same type gospel message is sending millions to hell itself. Peter said that in the last days men would bring in “damnable heresies,” denying the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

        I’m going to be blunt. If the Purpose Driven Life has become your preacher’s “bible,” you need to get out of that church! If your preacher is more concerned about what the latest book reports are from various authors and is not preaching the Word of God and the Cross – you need to get out of that church! If your preacher’s message is not making you glad or mad chances are that there is no anointing on what he is saying and it’s not doing a thing to help you – GET OUT! You need a message that will penetrate the heart and soul of men and cause men to repent and change their lives to live in view of eternity and a COMING Tribulation period that will usher in the advent of Antichrist and ultimately the Battle of Armageddon.

        When preachers stop preaching on these things it’s because they themselves do not believe these things are going to happen! That is the state of the modern church growth crowd. Messages on sin, repentance, the Second Coming, the coming days of travail and tribulation, are left off our cute little “sermon” lists in lieu of more ‘uplifting,’ messages. If your preaching man of God is not anointed with the FEAR OF God it may draw a crowd, but it won’t save men’s souls. And to be blunt, those “crowds” you get with a false message will one day stand at the judgment and blaspheme your name before God for leading them to hell! PREACHERS, PREACH THE WORD. PREACH THE Word. PREACH JESUS SAVES. PREACH JESUS HEALS. PREACH JESUS BAPTIZES in the HOLY GHOST. PREACH Jesus is coming again! Preach the rapture. Preach the Great Tribulation. Preach that there is an ARK preparing and the entrance into this ark is FAITH in the CROSS of CHRIST and what HE DID FOR US THERE in breaking both the POWER and the PENALTY of sin! Oh, Glory to God.

Seven More Days………………

Genesis 5:32
And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Genesis 7:6
And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.


        After more than 100 years, the ark was finished, completed and the animals were inside. The door was ready to close when God told Noah He would restrict the flood for seven days.

Genesis 7:4
For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

        According to Perry Stone in his book, “Second Coming Scrolls,” he believes this seven day period was to allow Noah to mourn the death of Methuselah his grandfather. In early history, the Hebrews would traditionally mourn seven days after the death of a loved one.

Genesis 50:10
And they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.

        In the Law of Moses, if someone touched a dead carcass, he needed seven days to purify himself.

Numbers 19:16
And whosoever touches one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

        These days were given for Noah to bury his righteous grandfather Methuselah and spend seven days in the required purification and mourning. It also enabled him to ensure that ALL God had required him to do was done in preparation for the coming onslaught of hell that would soon be released on earth.

        Neighbor, I bring this up to make this point. God had a specific TIME in mind when these events would occur. Even down to the day of letting Noah bury Methuselah and purifying the animals, God’s mercy has a time of ending. Jesus would tell his disciples one day that “the things concerning ME have an END.” There is an END to all things. There is an END to the Holy Spirit’s dealings with humanity. On a personal level, there is an END to the spirit’s dealings on our heart. It’s not that God’s mercy really runs out but He has a TIME in mind when He ceases to deal with man. That day is coming soon. That is why the Bible SCREAMS at us that TODAY is the day of salvation. None of us are promised tomorrow.

        When seven days were up, the DOOR was shut tight and the fountains of the water were released and torrents of rain gushed from the heavenly firmament for 40 consecutive days and nights. Forty is the number of judgment. There were 40 years in the wilderness for Israel’s unbelief; Nineveh was given 40 days to repent; Jesus gave Israel 40 years to repent and believe in Him; by their unbelief, Israel was destroyed by Titus.

Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

        Being warned of God and moving with fear, Noah PREPARED an ark for things coming "not yet seen" and by it he condemned the world! We as the CHURCH of the LIVING God are called to do the same today. We are called to heed the warning of God given in His Word, MOVE with Fear in our preaching and PREPARE the ark by telling all we can of the Love of God given to all humanity through Christ. While telling of His love, we cannot ignore warning those who refuse to believe the consequences of their actions. Noah did both and in doing so became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

        At that moment, the terrorized population realized that Adam’s prophecy had unexpectedly come to pass, in a day’s time! Sadly, it was too late for unbelievers to prepare. The warnings and signs were ignored and all that remained was judgment. None of the human race on earth at that time had seen torrents of water. Just because we don't see the full judgment of God on earth right now does not mean it's not coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We can't "SEE" the whole picture right now but friend hear this gray haired preacher - the rise of the Antichrist is on the NEAR horizon and this earth is about to be plunged into one of it's greatest times of bloodshed and war it has ever seen. BILLIONS are going to die. Yes, there is also coming one of the greatest moves of God on this planet as well, but we can't look for one without dealing with the other- they go hand in hand. Part of the reason I believe there will be a move of God coming is that some WILL see the events around them and realize what is happening and come to Jesus in a rapid pace. For many, their fate however will be different than those preparing NOW to be translated at the rapture. Those saved during the Great Tribulation period will more than likely face martyrdom by beheading at the hands of the Antichrist. It's better to heed the warnings NOW and be prepared for the sound of the trumpet!

        If we refuse to repent and believe, the same fate that engulfed those in Noah's day, awaits us in THIS generation! HEAR that neighbor. I write these words with all the heartfelt pleading I can write. If we refuse to repent and believe, the same fate as those in Noah’s day awaits us! Current history is no different today than it was in the times of Noah. God is raising up voices to proclaim the SOON return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Despite these warnings however and accumulating evidence that the time of Jesus return is near, scoffers still proclaim their unbelief!

        Just as God provided three signs in Noah’s day that the flood would come, so are three parallel signs evident in this generation. The three in Adam’s day were based more on tradition, the warnings given today are based on the Word of God.

Warning One: The Voice Of The Holy Spirit

        The Holy Spirit is speaking to the family of God around the world, whispering in the spirits of His people that the return of Christ is NEAR. The “SPIRIT” and the “BRIDE” say COME!

Rev. 22:17-20
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.  [18] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: [19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.  [20] He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

        The cynics claim they hear voices too that tell them this is all just theory and as many claim, “we’ve heard this all before for years and nothing has happened.” The fulfillment of Bible prophecy is not always an immediate happening. The birth of Christ was 4,000 years after Adam’s fall. The Exodus from Egypt was 400 years after Abraham. Adam’s prediction was realized 1,300 years after Adam received it.
 

        Prophets predicted both the first and second comings of Christ. If Jesus fulfilled the many promises of His first appearance, and we know He did, He will certainly fulfill the promises of His SECOND appearance! Christ said HE would COME and receive us unto Himself. In addition to that promise, two angels announced He would return, even as He was ascending to the Father:

Acts 1:10-11
And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; [11] Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

        The two angels who announced that Christ would return again spoke the first prophecy of His return to be recorded only seconds after Christ’s ascension. The Holy Spirit wanted to tell the disciples that Jesus would one day return to the earth at the same location. From that moment on, the second coming of Messiah became a central theme and doctrine in the first-century church. And it should be a theme in the LAST century church! Sadly, preaching of the Second Coming has given way to humanistic based discourses on how man can clean himself up or change his behavior.

        Preaching on “purpose” has replaced preaching humbling ourselves and repenting before God. Everyone wants to find their “purpose” outside Christ but neighbor there IS NO purpose outside our lives being laid at the foot of the cross, denying ourselves and taking up the cross and following HIM daily!

        Between the nuts in the charismatic world and the elites in the church growth movement NO warning is being sounded behind pulpits about the soon coming of Jesus. One such “light” on a famous TV network (so-called Christian) got up not too long ago and announced on the network’s main show that the Holy Spirit told him the Lord was delaying His coming because the church was “having too much fun” down here on earth. If that was not so pathetic it would be funny. Instead of this “prophet” being rebuked he was applauded the crowd went wild. The church is not “hearing” the voice of the Holy Spirit say “Even so COME, Lord Jesus,” it’s listening to “another spirit!”

        This same network recently put out two movies on the end times where the main characters never utter the name Jesus but name “GOD” in a generic tone as not to offend any body. There is NO other way to God BUT JESUS! And if a so-called Christian network is ashamed to tell the world that they are not Christian but of the devil! Not to be blunt or sarcastic but neighbor that type of “production” is OF THE DEVIL. It is of SATAN. It is a LIE. It is NOT the Voice of the HOLY SPIRIT speaking, but ANOTHER SPIRIT that is not of God. It’s a LYING spirit this prophet was listening to and it’s a LYING spirit that keeps preachers behind pulpits spreading LIES that the rapture will not take place but the world will just get “better” and “better” as Christians gain greater influence and power in the earth. The Bible does not teach such utter nonsense and foolishness.

        Friend, it is imperative YOU are CAREFUL to what you are LISTENING to. The ORAL voice of the Holy Spirit, the prophets, His Son Jesus Christ, and even angels has warned us Jesus is coming again! What part of that do we NOT understand? God help us.

Warning Two: The Written Word – The Bible

        In Noah’s day, the warnings were etched in brick and stone. Today, we have 66 books in the English translation of the Holy Bible that disclose God’s outline of redemption and the future messianic Kingdom. The New Covenant along contains 318 references to Christ’s SECOND COMING! The 10 generations of Adam had a record in brick and stone, but they had no major written revelations of God’s Word. After 6,000 years of human history, we are blessed to have a complete revelation of God in the Holy Bible. Nothing needs to be added and certainly NOTHING needs to be taken away. All world religions have their holy books. The Muslims have their Koran, the Buddhists have the traditions of Buddha, but only the inspired Scriptures, penned by prophets and apostles, contain THOUSANDS of prophesies that have yet to be fulfilled. This is why John wrote it on Patmos:

Rev. 19:10
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

        The WORD OF GOD is the roadmap for Israel and the world! God’s future plans for the world include a final world empire controlled by a military dictator identified as the Antichrist. (America may well be the final superpower before the Kingdom of the Beast and with America’s downfall at the present time on the world scene that should give us great pause to see how close we are to a change in the political climate of the world as it relates to bible prophecy!)

        The Apocalypse indicates that a false prophet will unite the world under a false religion. The world will be thrust into the Great Tribulation. This terrible time will climax with the return of Jesus and the armies of heaven. At that moment, the 1,000 year reign of Christ will begin!

Matthew 24:21
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Rev. 20:1-4
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. [2] And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, [3] And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. [4] And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Rev. 13:1-5
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. [2] And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. [3] And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. [4] And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? [5] And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

        While Israel continues to reel too and fro in the midst of Arab terror and continues to seek peace at any cost, the Gentile nations and sadly, millions in the church, are unaware of the warnings and blessings predicted for the future. Part of this plan includes a future resurrection of the dead in Christ and the catching away of those who are living on earth called the RAPTURE! Neighbor, the SPIRIT and the Bride “SAY” Come!

Warning Three- The Spoken Word

        The third warning God is giving us today comes through the SPOKEN word, the personal testimonies of the believers. When Methuselah's name was spoken, the meaning indicated something would happen. Today, thousands of Methuselah's preach an urgent message of hope to the believers and a warning to this generation of unbelievers who are ignoring the signs before them, including those even in the stars and heavens. God always sends a messenger before great times of danger, or before seasons of major fulfillment of prophecy.

        Joseph preceded the Hebrews to Egypt, Moses preceded the Exodus, Joshua preceded the capture of the Promised Land, and John the Baptist preceded Christ’s ministry. Two witnesses will appear in Jerusalem before Christ returns to rule the earth.

Rev. 11:1-8
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. [2] But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. [3] And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. [4] These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. [5] And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. [6] These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. [7] And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. [8] And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

        Every messenger came, or is coming, with a warning to the world. Sadly, many in the world, and yes, even in the church, is rejecting these warnings. Joseph warned of a coming famine, Moses warned Pharaoh of God’s Judgment on Egypt, and John the Baptist warned that Jesus would “purge the harvest floor.”

Matthew 3:12
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

        The two witnesses will announce God’s future judgment and prepare the way for the return of Christ to rule the earth. Prophets and prophecies always precede dramatic, earth-changing prophetic events. Every preacher who proclaims the return of Christ is another “NOAH,” or another “METHSUALEH” to her/his generation! God give us preachers like that today.

        As we close this simple message, let the writer say this. We must have the boldness of Elijah and demand of our generation today, “how LONG will you be divided among two opinions?” If Jesus is returning soon, which HE is, then shout it! If Jesus is returning soon, which He is, SING IT! If Jesus is returning soon, which HE is, then cry and plead with sinners and unbelievers to repent and believe! If Jesus is returning soon, which He is, then preacher you have a GOD-GIVEN mandate and ORDER to preach it and preach it HOT! My Lord, I feel this. I want to make it clear as I close this journal. Every preacher who hides behind his pulpit and does not preach the truth of the Second Coming is a hireling and not worthy of the calling placed on him by God. Many so-called preachers have never been called- they have just become “paid” professionals. God help us. God help us. Preachers, PREACH THE WORD, PREACH THE WORD, PREACH THE WORD, PREACH THE WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Any message other than the true gospel may “sound” good, but it will bring eternal damnation to our hearers! Preach Jesus neighbor, Preach Jesus saves, Jesus heals, Jesus baptizes in the Holy Ghost, and JESUS IS COMING AGAIN. Jesus saves, Jesus delivers, Jesus heals, Jesus baptizes in the HOLY GHOST! That’s the message and it’s NOT FOR SALE. It is a PRECIOUS message, bathed in the blood of Jesus 2,000 years ago. How dare we tinker with the message of life man of God to “pacifiy” the carnal lusts of those listening to us. Better we preach the truth and offend folks (the CROSS ALWAYS HAS AN OFFENCE ATTACHED TO IT!) now on earth before their life ends and they make heaven, than to never offend anyone we talk to and they die LOST and make HELL their eternal home. It’s that close neighbor!

        Noah, being warned by God, MOVED with Godly fear, built an ark, and CONDEMNED the world. That sounds somewhat like a contradiction to the statements of Jesus where He said that He did not come to condemn the world and the time he told the woman caught in sin He didn't condemn her. But we must not forget the second part of his admonition to the woman in adultery - go and SIN no more. The world that is condemned MUST come to HIM that they might be saved. They cannot remain in their sinful state and still believe they are not condemned, because like those in Noah's day, if they refuse to believe and repent - then they WILL BE condemned!

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 8:10-14
When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? [11] She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

        It's not. What it means is that Jesus Christ came to die for lost humanity and ALL those who believe in Him are NOT condemned, they are set free from the penalty and the powers of sin. Those who do not believe though ARE condemned already! In other words, we don't have to condemn the world any more than it already is. But THOSE WHO BELIEVE can walk free today from that condemnation and be safe from the coming storm and tribulation that is about to engulf the earth. I hear preachers, especially those in the ecumenical church growth movements, hold this scripture up as an excuse not to "condemn" anyone with their preaching. Neighbor that is nothing but deception. True gospel preaching will always CONVICT the sinner and if the sinner refuses to believe-  the WRATH OF GOD ABIDES ON HIM! We need not EVER forget that! ALL of us are worthy of hell itself, but by God's GRACE and MERCY, if we have placed our faith in the Cross and what Jesus did for us there 2,000 years ago, then we are BORN AGAIN and saved from the coming wrath upon Planet Earth and in eternity upon those who have rejected, those who have refused.

John 3:33-36
He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. [34] For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure unto him. [35] The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. [36] He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him.

         Neighbor it's getting late. It's getting late. It's getting late. It's getting late. I feel the pathos of the Holy Spirit as I write this early in the AM on warm March day in 2006. Are you and your family secure in the ark of CHRIST today? Are you and your family saved today? Are you TRUSTING in the BLOOD of the Lord Jesus Christ and have placed faith in His crucified work on Calvary that delivered mankind from ALL it's bondage and sin! I pray you are and if not I invite you to make that decision for HIM. These words may seem trite to some and simplistic to others but in the end the message of the gospel will stand the test of critics and cynics and backslidden preachers and apostate saints. One day we will understand why it was important to preach and warn people of the truth! It's harvest time neighbor and I pray your ready.

        I will leave you with the words of one of my favorite songs in the entire world today to summarize what will save you from this coming wrath and it goes like this:

Christ our Redeemer died on the cross,
Died for the sinner, paid all his due.
Sprinkle your soul with the blood of the Lamb
And I Will pass, will pass over you.

Chiefest of sinners, Jesus will save;
All He has promised, so He will do;
Come to the fountain, Let Jesus in
Then He Will pass, will pass over you.

Judgment is coming, all will be there.
Those who've rejected, those who've refused
Hide in His saving, sin cleansing blood,
Then He Will pass, will pass over you.

O great compassion! O boundless love! O loving kindness, faithful and true!
We'll find shelter Under His Blood,
All who believe are safe from the storm,
