Why is this Night Different from all Other Nights?

How is this night different from all othe nights?
Passover is the 8 day observance commemorating the freedom and exodus of the Israelites (Jewish slaves) from Egypt during the reign of the Pharaoh Ramses II.  To many Jewish families, Passover is a time of family gatherings and lavish meals called Seders, the story of Passover is retold through the reading of the Haggadah. With its special foods, songs, and customs, the Seder is the focal point of the Passover celebration. Passover begins on the 15th day of the Jewish month of Nissan. As the Jewish day begins at sundown the night before, for the year 2006, the first night of Passover will be April 12th. For those who know the Messiah, this is one of the most powerful worship times of all year as we commemorate the crucified Lamb and His victory over the powers of darkness through His Death, Burial and Resurrection! His blood still sets men FREE!

These lessons are very short in nature and do nothing more than scratch the surface. We don't have them listed in any particular order. This will at least help however, those who have never attended a Seder and are in need of learning common terminology that will be used during this blessed event. We are continuing to add to this section as we enter 2006. We encourage you to visit our "FEASTS OF ISRAEL" site to get a more complete lesson in the three Spring Feasts which encompass Passover - Passover, Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits. Pentecost, the last of the four Spring Feasts, takes place 50 days later after Passover, a type of the Holy Spirit, which fell 50 days after the death of Christ. If you have any questions, we encourage you to email us at dovelight@spiritjournals.com
